This week we ask for your help raising funds to support a great cause – the Earth Science Women’s Network (ESWN). ESWN is the largest organization of women working in geoscience fields such as oceanography, meteorology, and geology. Their mission is to support the scientists of today, and welcome the scientists of tomorrow. ESWN serves women and men, undergraduates, professional societies, and more, addressing issues of relevance to all STEM fields. Find out more about ESWN’s cause here.
Dr. Melissa Kenney is helping ESWN by participating in Science-A-Thon today, July 13. She will be publicly sharing 12 photos of her day over 12 hours — come along with her for the day! The goal of Science-A-Thon is to show what a “day in the life” of a scientist looks like. Scientists from around the world are participating, in a wide range of fields of study. You can see the photos from different scientists around the world streaming in all day – just follow @science_a_thon on Twitter, or check out scienceathon.org for updates. Follow our team https://twitter.com/melissakenney and see why ESSIC is a great place to be an environmental decision support scientist!
Would you consider supporting Dr. Kenney’s fundraiser for this event? You can donate to her fundraising page here with a credit card – it’s quick and and any amount would be valuable. ESWN is a 501c3, so donations are tax-deductible and your employer may even match your gift.
